Did you enjoy Love Fairford? What went well? Could we repeat it – every year? now and again?

Do you have ideas of other things we should be doing? Did you enjoy meeting and working with members of the other churches in Fairford?

Churches Together Around Fairford would love to hear your ideas at the AGM. It’s also a good place to continue meeting and working with members of the other churches.

We need people with ideas and suggestions to join us. If you are interested in knowing more please talk to: Helen Evans (01285 713431) or Sarah Bottomley (01285 712074) Email.

Charity of the Month:
The Prayer Book Society

The Prayer Book Society

At St Mary’s we continue a proud tradition of offering Book of Common Prayer services at least twice a week, in the form of our 8am Sunday Holy Communion and 10.30am Thursday Holy Communion. Three Sundays out of four we also celebrate BCP Evensong at 6pm in the chancel. The poetry and power of the Prayer Book continue to inspire and move us.

We are happy then to offer our support to the Prayer Book Society as our charity of the month for February, as they seek to resource and encourage the use of the Prayer Book in our churches.

The Prayer Book Society offers fellowship and encouragement to lovers of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer (BCP), both clergy and laity, spanning a great breadth of age, background, tradition and churchmanship. Their work includes:

  • Working with theological training institutions to encourage the teaching and use of the BCP
  • Supplying a copy of the BCP to every Church of England ordinand entering training
  • Providing training for ordinands and clergy, both online and in person, at national and diocesan level
  • Running the Cranmer Awards, a prestigious national competition for young people aged 11 - 18 to introduce them to the BCP

Website.
