Charity of the Month:
The National Star College

The National Star College

National Star works with young people with disabilities, helping them to realise their potential through education and personalised learning opportunities, and through the provision of transition and accommodation services.,

The young people are supported through programmes that emphasise creative and performing arts, communication and life skills, and through their comprehensive team of therapists, including speech and language specialists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and behaviour specialists.

The college is local - based at Ullenwood in Gloucestershire, and works with young people both locally and nationally.

As a community resource, the national centre is also able to offer short break opportunities, and other health and wellbeing services such as activity and therapeutic breaks; and as a recognised centre of excellence, National Star is able to use its expertise in order to offer training and development programmes for professionals.

In John’s Gospel, Jesus promised that he came to bring life in its fullness to all people. The work of the National Star is very much in the spirit of that promise - lifting up and empowering those who society might otherwise sideline or ignore.

Crafts, Games, Celebration, Cooked Meal
FOR FAMILIES.

The theme is ‘Listening to God’. This is the story of God calling the young boy Samuel and for us it’s about how we can listen to God. There will be activities (including junk modelling and decorating biscuits) and games.

After the games and activities there will be a Celebration and then a cooked meal in the Community Centre finishing about 6pm as usual.

No need to book but it will help us with catering if you can let us know that you are coming. If not - just turn up on the day.
