Supporting the Bereaved with the Continuing Care TeamThe team have recently completed the “Accord” course on supporting the bereaved. We met regularly with the Vicar to consider where some support would be helpful. We also follow up on information received from friends and family of bereaved people. Contact us through the Church office (713611), the Vicar directly or Frank Hall (712583). Local Ministry Team (LMT)We are a small group of clergy and lay people whose aim is to encourage and enable all church members to fully join in the ministry of the church. There are many ways in which this can be done according to the talents and strengths of the individual. We report each month to the PCC on our activities. Mothers' UnionFAIRFORD MOTHERS UNION celebrated their 100th Birthday in October 2010. The Mothers Union is a world-wide Anglican organisation founded by Mary Sumner in 1876. Its purpose is to be concerned with all aspects of Christian Family life. As a voluntary organisation the Mothers Union offers friendship, care and unconditional love to thousands of women and men throughout the world, a lifeline for many families. In Gloucestershire the Mothers Union have several ongoing projects which we support including Parenting courses and the Away From It All Scheme where holidays are arranged for disadvantaged families. MUMAS is the Mothers Union Money Advice Service which helps families trapped in debt. We help these projects by fundraising besides helping our members overseas by contributing to the Overseas Fund. Fairford branch meet on a monthly basis and bring a variety of practical help to the parish and community. Our branch is founded on fellowship and prayer with fun being an important item on the agenda. We do need new members to take us through future decades.
